What is Immersive Translate?
Immersive Translate is a free-first browser extension and mobile app for bilingual reading. It translates entire web pages into a side-by-side bilingual layout, plus PDFs (preserving layout), video subtitles on sites like YouTube and Netflix, comics, and images, and works in online meetings.
Rather than using a single translation engine, it routes requests through 20+ backends including DeepL, ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and Gemini, letting users pick an engine per use case. It's available for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, plus iOS and Android, and used by more than 10 million people, mainly to read foreign-language sites, research papers, and videos without leaving the page.

Immersive Translate pricing
The extension itself is free for website, PDF, EPUB, and video-subtitle translation. Optional Pro ($14.99/mo or $124.99/yr) and Max ($34.99/mo or $289.99/yr) memberships raise monthly token quotas for premium and advanced AI translation models.
| Plan | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Everyday bilingual browsing, PDF, and subtitle translation |

Our take: Immersive Translate's core idea is a bilingual, side-by-side reading layout rather than replacing the original text, and letting users swap between 20+ translation engines instead of being locked to one provider.
