How to get started

Use an API key pair, not the account auth token, if you can. Restrict to one service.
Send one SMS to yourself first.
Set a spend cap on the Twilio account.

Access risk

SMS and voice cost money and can spam customers. Auth token is the account.

When to skip it

Skip it if you only needed Discord/Slack chat, or if SMS should stay in a human on-call tool (PagerDuty).

Auth token or API key?

Prefer an API key pair over the account auth token. Restrict to one service.

Can it spam customers?

Yes. SMS and voice cost money. This is not Slack.

Twilio or PagerDuty?

Twilio sends messages. PagerDuty pages humans. Different jobs.

Which package?
